A Stake in the Bedroom
Surveyors drive a stake into the floor of his bedroom and run a plot boundary through the middle of his father's grave. What they are carving into building lots is a forest of several dozen hectares in the middle of the Sahel, which one man has been sowing by hand for a quarter of a century. His village had called him mad and set fire to his first trees. He will die without ever obtaining a single piece of paper proving the forest is his.
