The People Who Cut the Railway
On the morning of 6 January 1910, a woman came to warn the post at Agboville. That evening and the next day, the Abbey country cut the railway in twenty places and derailed the train to the coast. One European died; his death was told in five versions and gave its name to a town. About a thousand Africans died in three months, and no one knows who set the date.
